My Greatest Day ever!!!

Yesterday, during badminton training, we were pushed to our ultimate limit!! We had to run to every corner of the court, and believe me when I say that my lungs almost burst. XD

After that, Audrey was telling us some stuff about the game and footwork and other stuff. Then she let us play games afterwards.

During all that running, my legs and lungs were about to give way, but after, something like, 5 minutes, I felt like I could do the training again. So, my first match went on.

It was me and my brother, against Hee Ian and Erik. My brother was playing damn well, since recovering from a leg injury, and me, well,

ALL MY SHOTS WENT THROUGH AS I WANTED THEM TO!!!

My backhand was phenomenal!! There was one shot were Hee Ian caught me off-guard, and I had to run to my deep backhand. I played a fantastic backhand, and scored a point!! AMAZING STUFF. And my brother did one smash that broke through Hee Ian's defenses!! We took the 1st game 21-14.

Hee Ian and Erik came back with a vengeance to win the second game 21-14. We just couldn't play up to speed in the 2nd.

But in the third, it was a very close match. We 16-18 down on them. My brother and I took the third game 21-18. IT WAS JUST THE BEST THING EVER. 5 points in a row is simply AWESOME!!!( what a corny word to useXD )

Then when Hee Ian and Erik went home, I played singles with my brother, playing amazing smashes from my forehand down the line. My net and drop shots were getting sharper, and I took the 1st game 21-16.

He came back in the second with a 21-14 win. This time, he caught me off-guard, with his, unusual strong, lobs. He displaced me well.

But in the third, he had no answer to my shots. we were at 8-8, when I pulled a away to a 16-8 lead. He clawed back some points, but I took the match with a 21-15 victory. All my backhand shots did not fail me.

I'm pleased with the way I played yesterday, I might have even been able to beat Hock Chin!!.

That's all for now, I got to go and study before the World Championship Final later at 2.

See ya.

3 month physical workout...*dread*

I think you may know what i'm about to write in this post from the title alone, as it is around this time that certain a "lucky draw" is held.

NOOOOOO!!!

I've been selected for National Service...haiz.

Which means 3 things.

a) My long hair is gonna be cut short!!!! *argh*
b) My skin is gonna get dark!!! I like my relatively fair self. *damn*
c) I'm gonna need to get into shape (slightly) if I have to go through that place.

Hopefully I won't be chosen into the 1st batch, if not I'll have to differ. I think when you differ, they'll differ you to the following year( I don't know about that, so don't sue me XD).

So, before I go through NS, i'm gonna play badminton to my hearts content, and eat whatever I feel like eating, as I don't think I'll be able to do those things while I'm there.

Gonna miss 3 months of training as well, =(

5 Beta badminton game!!! This Sunday? You SAM and Form 6 guys holiday right? No excuse saying you can't come!! I still got college, so COME OR DIE!!
And I don't care, I'm gonna do the tournament thing.
Hock Chin is going down!!! (hopefully *prays*)

Maybe, can have PL1-PB2 badminton game as well. I say PB2 because Eu Jin told me before that Boo plays badminton quite well, so, I'd like to fight him.

And,

Trials are just around the corner, and I hope I can do much better than before. *prays again*

BADMINTON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS STARTING TOMORROW!!!
Can't wait to see the live telecast of the matches on Astro, channel 85!! WOOHOO!!! Lets pray one more time, that all the other badminton power houses ( Malaysia, Indonesia, Denmark, Korea) can topple the Chinese from winning everything.

Finally, my condolences to any of you that got "lucky". Just to ease each others "good luck", those that got selected please say so, and those that didn't...I'LL KILL YOU IF YOU EVEN MENTIONED A THING ABOUT NS!!!!

The "Fire" is gone...

"It was once blazing, with extreme heat and passion, dancing with the wind!...now, it is gone."

If the line above still clouds you with confusion, then, you haven't seen me play in a long while.

In plain english, my badminton is in an all-time low. Its gotten worse since my previous post. I just can't get my game right. Everything seems to be going wrong.

Shots that were easy before, have now become hard to play. I can't even get continously lob with Hee Ian from the back of the court. Its so frustrating!! *pulling hair*

Problems in my game:
-can't lob to the back of the court
-can't play net shots tightly
-can't play cross net
-can't drop shot from the back
-can't play backhand properly
-can't cross court smash like I use to
-can't play under pressure anymore
-can't play at fast speeds
-can't beat Hock Chin ( lol...never could, anyway)

So many problems in my game, but can't seem to rectify them.

And, my main problem is, I don't have any new motivation to push me to play badminton anymore. The fire in me, has been put out recently. I used to never give up, and keep pushing myself even though I was losing, especially against Hock Chin in Form 4 and sometimes in Form 5.

Ever since the beginning of semester 2 , I couldn't find my edge, my motivation, and my desire.

Now, Erik is even more motivated to beat me in badminton. And I don't blame him, because of the lack of desire in me to win anymore.

And, I can't improve on my game this week, as there isn't any training this weekend. The good thing is, I can finish up my law assignment on Intention.

My prime has come and gone, but hopefully not forever, and not for long...

Too many things...very busy

Today, Sunday, coincidentally many things are happening today.

Time: 11.35 am.

Firstly, Miss Harjit is giving us a law test on offer & acceptance and consideration( i dislike this topic a lot). This means that some reading has to be done. ELS was so much more easier, when it comes to stuff like this. In contract, so many cases need to be remembered and there are so many rules to know. Lets hope that I can remember as much as possible =).

Next, in Formula 1; luckily Lewis Hamilton didn't get injured after his horrific crash during qualifying yesterday. And, Congrats to Kimi for taking pole position for Ferrari. Tonight will be the race at Nurburging. Pray that Kimi will win.

FORZA FERRARI!!

And in the afternoon, the final round of the Philippines Open will be showing live. I think Chong Wei would win the title, over 1st seed, and World No. 2 Chen Hong.
In the men doubles, it would be a bit hard to say who will win. The match will be between Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong and China's Guo Zhendong-Xie Zhongbo, and the Chinese pair have been performing exceptionally well in this tournament, knocking out 2nd seed Candra Wijaya-Tony Gunawan.

And finally, speaking about badminton, my form in playing is currently in a slump. Although my net shots are getting tighter, I just don't seem to have the motivation to play at a higher level and I can't really cope under pressure. I need to find a new motivation, so that I can push myself to play harder, and faster. My past motivation, is gone with the wind...lol.

I'm starting to lose to my brother much more. I haven't beaten him in the past 3 weeks. If this continues, I might even lose to Erik again!! ( but this possibility, I think is highly unlikely...hehe). So, things have been going through my mind on how to improve, and it needs to happen quickly.

So that's all, I'll keep you updated with my training =)

Which one would've been the better choice?

14th of July, Saturday.

Chocolate Factory (Beryls), or badminton training? hmmmm....

A trip to the chocolate factory might have been nice, may have bought chocolates to indulge myself in.
But, if I did go for the trip, I wouldn't have been able to improve myself in badminton, especially with the vigorous training that we did today.

Even though I injured my back in the process, I learned a hell lot today! Apart from my uninspiring performance against my brother, in which I lost (21-17), the whole day was great!!
Another highlight would be me and my brother defeating Hee Ian-Eu Yang, 14-21, 21-16, 21-16!! That was revenge for them beating us previously.

Oh, and by the way, I'm not easy meat to kill, Erik.

Wonder if my classmates enjoyed themselves during the trip? Hope you did.

I have to admit, I may not be able to beat Hock Chin just yet, but i'll get him very soon. ( Its very hard to write this down for me...LOL!!!)

Any chance of a Beta get-together badminton game? I'm dying just to play with you guys again. You guys are the only ones that I can rely on to come in full force, one big group!!

Lets all pray,
that China will not produce a clean sweep in the China Masters, and that others will be able to upset them in the finals tomorrow, especially the fired up Choong Hann!!!

A New Start

The 2nd semester for A-levels has just started ( well, its been 3 days, so...). We have already started learning contract law, and other subjects have yet to start the A2 syllabus.

The time table, to me, isn't a nice one ( apart from Monday and Wednesday where I start at 9). There are breaks like after every 1 or 2 classes ( That's because I don't take maths =D). So, its like, up and down almost the whole day. Tiring!!!

Apart from the new sem beginning,
in Formula 1, Ferrari are starting their fight back after 3 races of Mclaren domination. This situation for Ferrari is similar to last year, where Michael Schumacher fought back in his championship bid, and Ferrari brought the fight back to Renault, and Alonso!! But unfortunately, 2 mechanical failures in Japan and Brazil destroyed Michael's chances of winning =(. Hopefully, Ferrari can fight back at the top step again, but this time, win the championship!!

FORZA FERRARI!!!

Also another new start,

the beginning for me to take the fight to Hock Chin!! My style of playing badminton has changed. This new style, has given me much confidence that I need. I just need to train this style of playing, maybe for a couple more months, and Hock Chin will be DETHRONED by me!!!

Today, I stamped my authority down, by beating Eu Jin 21-18, 21-14. He was very clam the whole time, and I was getting very anxious to beat him quickly, but that cost me. He gained confidence, and bag in points fairly quick. I needed to stop playing so predictably, and change the pace of my play. It worked, and I know it will work against Hock Chin!!

I'll be more than glad to play against anyone who challenges me, after reading this...hehe, including Hee Ian!! I'm sure those who will comment on this will be Eu Yang and Wyhow. LOL!!

Btw,
tonight at 8 o'clock, Jamie Oliver's new series on channel 11, Travel and Living!!! Don't miss it.

Unbelievable!!

It was quite disappointing when Coach Audrey messaged my bro's phone on Saturday morning, "no training today". NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

After my disappointing play on Thursday at 3K, I wanted to improve on it during training. Too bad it didn't happen.

But,

at about 2.30 pm, Hock Chin called me and asked whether I wanted to play badminton. Of course I wouldn't decline a match with him so I agreed. He booked the court at Jaya Square, and it was just Hock Chin, Eu Yang, my bro, and myself. we played from 4-6pm.

But after so much hype about the thought of fighting him, it would end up to be a disaster for me.

We played doubles first, my brother and I lost to Hock Chin and Eu Yang 21-17, 12-21, 21-14. If I can remember clearly, that was the score.

Let me just say that Hock Chin was on a role that day. He was so fired up to play. He won all his matches, or games.

I thought, at least I must be the 2nd best there that day...hehe, But it didn't work out. I lost to my brother 24-22. DAMN!! I couldn't handle the pressure properly. Well, I only played with him 1 game. Then I fought Eu Yang, after a draw at 1 game each the previous week, I was ready to beat him flat, but that wouldn't be the case.
I LOST in 2 straight games!!!! 21-11, 21-16. My game was a mess.

Finally, I had to challenge Hock Chin, of course. We only played 1 game, and I lost 21-13.
My net shots weren't going through, and Hock Chin was able to retrieve my smashes, and recover even though he was of balance!!...haiz.

Two bad days of badminton for me. We played more doubles afterwards, then it was almost 6 o'clock, when a group of small kids came in. They were there for training. The oldest one there was probably Form 3 the most.
While we were waiting for Eu Yang to change, we sat down on the bench, and witnessed the most amazing play any of us have ever seen!!

These four young kids, about 6 years old, were playing like crazy!! They were damn good!!, and they are shorter than the net!! They could lob as far as I could, or even further! They could even clear the shuttlecock cross-court, and the best part was that they did it using their backhand!!! My backhand could rarely even reach half court!!

They would, if they must, even fall down just to retrieve the shuttle and get back up and hit the next one. Their court coverage was damn amazing!! It's like they have been partnering each other for years!! If only I could do that.

We were awestruck, and Hock Chin kept going on about, that they were trained at a young age with all the basic knowledge, and he started training late under Audrey, Form 3, without much basic knowledge. Haiz...if only I didn't quit training when I was Standard 2.

I also shared a joke, about Shaun and Lai Hing, with Hock Chin. ( No details will be mentioned...LOL!!!).
I'm still thinking back about how those small kids could play so damn good, its just unbelievable.

Semester Exams are over!!!!

After so much of preparation ( maybe not that much), my semester exam is finally over. Now I can enjoy, but probably not too much since A2 is gonna start, and I need to get prepared for AS trials as well.

I would like to wish my cousin a happy holiday, he just finish his A2 exam, good luck with the result.

To my SAM friends, i hope that you guys did well in your mid term exams. Study harder if you didn't get the result you wanted...GOOD LUCK.

And now, to my A-level friends, happy holidays, and good luck with your results, which may or may not spoil the second week of the holidays...haiz.

Especially to my PL1 friends, hope you guys will have a safe journey home, for those of you who live away from here ; Serene ( Johor), Florence ( Penang), Juna ( Maldives...that's near India if you didn't know...LOL!!! *Gets whacked by her*).
For those who are still here, well... Have Fun!

There's just something I wanna highlight, ( Shaun already knows)

Before the exams, after the badminton game with 5 Beta, the following day was training, my shoulder dislocated. But I think it only displaced slightly, but that hurt like HELL! Couldn't move my arm much on Sunday, and I was of course worried about the sem exams on Monday.

Luckily it healed quite fast, but my writing was still restricted. Good thing I was still able to write quite fluently.

Oh btw, Hock Chin, I could've beaten you that day. It was a close one in the second game, 21-17. Lost the first one 21-12. I know I'm capable of beating you...* Eu Yang goes "ish"*...LOL!!!"
1 more month and I will.

Finally,

WELCOME BACK TIENG WEI!!!

How was NS? Had fun?
