Unbelievable!!

It was quite disappointing when Coach Audrey messaged my bro's phone on Saturday morning, "no training today". NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

After my disappointing play on Thursday at 3K, I wanted to improve on it during training. Too bad it didn't happen.

But,

at about 2.30 pm, Hock Chin called me and asked whether I wanted to play badminton. Of course I wouldn't decline a match with him so I agreed. He booked the court at Jaya Square, and it was just Hock Chin, Eu Yang, my bro, and myself. we played from 4-6pm.

But after so much hype about the thought of fighting him, it would end up to be a disaster for me.

We played doubles first, my brother and I lost to Hock Chin and Eu Yang 21-17, 12-21, 21-14. If I can remember clearly, that was the score.

Let me just say that Hock Chin was on a role that day. He was so fired up to play. He won all his matches, or games.

I thought, at least I must be the 2nd best there that day...hehe, But it didn't work out. I lost to my brother 24-22. DAMN!! I couldn't handle the pressure properly. Well, I only played with him 1 game. Then I fought Eu Yang, after a draw at 1 game each the previous week, I was ready to beat him flat, but that wouldn't be the case.
I LOST in 2 straight games!!!! 21-11, 21-16. My game was a mess.

Finally, I had to challenge Hock Chin, of course. We only played 1 game, and I lost 21-13.
My net shots weren't going through, and Hock Chin was able to retrieve my smashes, and recover even though he was of balance!!...haiz.

Two bad days of badminton for me. We played more doubles afterwards, then it was almost 6 o'clock, when a group of small kids came in. They were there for training. The oldest one there was probably Form 3 the most.
While we were waiting for Eu Yang to change, we sat down on the bench, and witnessed the most amazing play any of us have ever seen!!

These four young kids, about 6 years old, were playing like crazy!! They were damn good!!, and they are shorter than the net!! They could lob as far as I could, or even further! They could even clear the shuttlecock cross-court, and the best part was that they did it using their backhand!!! My backhand could rarely even reach half court!!

They would, if they must, even fall down just to retrieve the shuttle and get back up and hit the next one. Their court coverage was damn amazing!! It's like they have been partnering each other for years!! If only I could do that.

We were awestruck, and Hock Chin kept going on about, that they were trained at a young age with all the basic knowledge, and he started training late under Audrey, Form 3, without much basic knowledge. Haiz...if only I didn't quit training when I was Standard 2.

I also shared a joke, about Shaun and Lai Hing, with Hock Chin. ( No details will be mentioned...LOL!!!).
I'm still thinking back about how those small kids could play so damn good, its just unbelievable.
