My last full day in Reading..

I'LL BE GONE TOMORROW!!!!! =DDDDDD

I can't believe that the year is over, just like that.

I can still remember my 1st day here like it was yesterday...=P

All the people I've met, and all the friends that I have...I'm gonna miss everyone. =)

Oh, and Zhang Rei came to Reading on the 27th. He just left.

We went to Stonhenge..and we had one hour to look around before the last bus leaves.

Reached Stonehenge...dude!! it was smalll!!! =S

We walked around it in like 10 minutes..and we didn't know what else to do.

SO we took a lot of stupid pics!! ;)

Lol!! then we used up our 1 hour..waited for the bus for a while, then we left.

I did some packing yesterday, when he went on a day trip to Windsor. He's obsessed with castles. =P

Now, I have to finish up my packing....soooooo lazeeeee!!!

Will be in London for 3 days..anybody coming down to London..gimme a call..=D

Thorpe Park!! =D

I'm not sure why I even went to Thorpe Park. I'm not a thrill seeker. =P

And I just found out the night before, many guys are the same..LOLS!!

I thought I was the only 1..*phew*..XD

BUT...

IT WAS FUN!!!

I didn't take many pics..not in the mood..cause I was super nervous!

There were quite a lot of game stalls around. Pris and Penny won Mario and Sonic here. =D

At another game stall, Esther and I tried to win an Xbox 360..but alas..it wasn't meant to be..lol..stupid game wasted my £2.50...XD

Back to the rides.

We started of with Nemesis Inferno. I was freaking out more and more as we got closer and closer. Edbert, Ngai Chun, Zili, Pris and Ee Kai wanted to sit in front..and the front seats have a different queue, and it was sooo long.

So many crazy people want to sit in front...=S

So it was Penny, Esther, Kris and Lara in one row, and me and June in another.

Takut gila!!

Especially when I was strapped down...=S

When we started moving, I was hanging on to the handle bars so tight, that when I got off, the muscles in my fingers were a bit stiff..=P

But the ride was awesome!!! =DD

I screamed my head off!!

Usually when I was younger, if I ever do sit on fast rides..I'll keep it in. Now..I just scream! =D

Don't like the part when you drop down..but going upside down was ok..=)

We didn't want to wait for the others to finish the ride, we went straight onto the Colossus. 10 loop roller coaster...crazy...

This one was a bit more scarier than the 1st one. There were more drops. =S

And it was looooong! A bit too long. Why?

When the ride started, then everyone screamed, me included.

And then, in between..no more breath. Took in a deep breath...and screamed again....HAHAHAHAH!! XD

Now thinking about the ride..I'm feeling a bit dizzy..=P

Oh, then after the rides, you can see shots and videos of you on the ride. My hair flew backwards...=P

I look terrified..lol!

But it was not bad..=D

Then we decided to ride Saw. This time we met up with the others..and split up again. So now, I'll be sitting with Edbert.

The queue was soo long. Waited for 1 hour, and the ride was over in 30 seconds.

At first, there was no place to sit at the back..so we had to queue to sit in front..=S

Then I think someone chickened out, so me and Edbert quickly took the seats..=)

The ride...was scary at the beginning...not saying why..=P

But somewhere in the ride..I was going, "AHHHHHH!!!", and Edbert was going, "WOOHOOO!!".

Then he was hitting my lap, and when we were turning, I saw him looking at me, as if to ask me to scream, "WOOHOO" with him..and I did..LOLS!!

That was fun as well!! =DD

Then we went for lunch.

Piri Piri chicken burger. =)

After that, some of them went for Stealth. 0-80 mph in under 2 seconds...Pris, Edbert, June and I didn't have the stomach to sit on the ride. But the 3 of them went much later..I didn't...XD

Sat on a few more rides, played a few more games.

Then..it was time to get wet..=D

Tidal Wave!!!

When we were on the boat, Zili was going, "My new shoes! My new shoes!"..XD

The splash was awesome!! =D

The beginning of the fall..I don't like, but after like 1 second..the rest of it..nicee~ =D

Then we went for the Rumba Rapids..was quite relaxing..you barely got wet.

Then we dried ourselves by just standing under the sun, while waiting for the missing trio, Pris, Edbert and June. They went on the flume ride twice..lol.

Then we headed for home. =)

It was a good day. =D

On the way back, there was some problem with a train at a station up ahead..so we had to wait on our train for something like 50 minutes. Only reached Reading at about 9.30pm.

Bought myself a kebab. And my dinner was at 10pm..=P

Went to sleep..and this morning, my whole body was aching..lol!

Okies!

I will be back in 12 days time!! =D

Post-Birthday post(LoL)

I've turned 20!!

2 decades old!! =S

Old like shit!! I'm gonna miss having my number 1 in front of my age. =P

This is the first time I'll be celebrating my B'day in London

wait..nope...This will be my second time! =P

The first was when I was 6 years old. I can only remember it after watching old home videos. Me and my brother trying to blow out the candles on my cake in my aunt's house. =))

Fast forward 14 years later.

Shaun and I left for the train station at about 9.30am.

Reached our 1st destination at about 10.45am.

The Imperial War Museum London. =D

They have new exhibitions since I last came in 2006. And I think they keep changing what they show..so as to not make it boring...BUT BUT...why did they have to take away the D-Day section!! =(

That was like the best one ever!!

Got to see my favourite tank..=D

And they had a Trench Warfare exhibition..that was awesome!

And Shaun was telling me that the War Museum in South Korea is much bigger than this one. And they displayed nuclear warheads and huge planes..=D

I WANNA SEE!!!

Ok then, not running away from the war theme. The HMS Belfast was our 3rd destination. =D
Shaun found a 2 for 1 offer. So we only had to pay something like £6 each..=D

It was SOOOOOOO NICE!!!! From the outside, it looks kinds small...BUT it's really HUGE!!!

Climbing up and down the super narrow staircases and venturing into different parts of the ship was damn cool!

And the narrow spaces reminded me of the Cu Chi tunnels in Vietnam.

The staircases were so narrow, and some of it quite low..at times Shaun and I even had to duck our heads down so as to avoid the ceiling..I mean..wouldn't the sailors of this ship be taller and much bigger size than us?

Too bad we couldn't visit the engine room..it was closed due to unforeseen circumstances. Shaun was saying that it will forever be closed, because they don't want the people to know that it is a working ship and ready for battle...LOLS!!!

Now leaving all the war stuff behind...We went to lunch at a shop opposite King's Cross Station.

This was after visiting the Imperial War Museum.

It was a place called Chop Chop noodle Bar. My aunty told me about this.

AND THIS IS WHAT I ATE!! =D

Singapore Curry Laksa! With fish cake, 3 prawns, and taufu pok. Only £3.90! =)))))

Shaun had the seafood noodle, and we ordered spare ribs as well..=D

After a really satisfying meal..we then left for the Belfast..then walked across Tower Bridge, then went to Wong Kei for dinner..=D

Then we arrived back in Reading at about 9.30pm. =D

Oh, and this is what I bought from the Museum..hehe...XD

And when I came back to Wessex, I got a cake! =D

From Hayley, Laura, Alice, Katiy and Dave..=D

My 20th Birthday was a good day..=D

OLA!!!

Just got back from town with Shaun, after his final paper.

He went to cut his hair. £17!! =S

I haven't cut my hair in almost 8 months...XD

So, went to town to look see look see. Bought enough snacks to last me till I go home..=D

And also got my B'day Present...XD

3 for £10..=D

And when I was in GAME, Shaun and I were talking..ABOUT GAMES!!! OoO

eh..wait...come tot think about it..I recall him saying that he plays Flight Simulator. yes yes...this is starting to sound very familiar.

But we were talking about strategy games and FPS!!!

I seriously can't imagine Shaun playing these games..lol!! =P

Another new interest found. RTS! =D

Red Alert, Command & Conquer, Age of Mythology, Age of Empire.

He's even played Total War and a few others..and I haven't!! LOL!!

=D

Anyway, we will be going to London tomorrow. Gonna visit the Imperial War Museum and the HMS Belfast..=D

Then might meet up with Charine and Angelina, cause they're going to London as well. See if the timing is right.

Hmm..then might get myself something from the museum as well...*cough..Sherman Tank Model...cough*

It was sooo crazy...

..but SOOO FUN at the same time.

Never cooked for 8 ppl before...luckily they were all recipes I knew by heart.

What went wrong?

The tin tomatoes tasted like tomato ketchup. =(

*thank god the basil sort of covered that up quite a bit.

The roast chicken wouldn't brown in top. =((

*it took like 45-50 minutes to get brown.

The "British Radishes" suck!!!

*if you were to blindfold me and put THAT radish in my mouth..I would've told you that it was something crunchy with no flavour whatsoever! =(((

What went right?

The potato salad..=D

*You can't really beat creme fraiche and lemon juice..=D

The roast chicken leg and stuffed chicken breast.

*Rosemary and lemon is a super combo (all hail Jamie Oliver) and you can't beat pesto and parmesan in a chicken breast wrapped with Prosciutto di Parma (Parma Ham..or as Ee Kai calls it.."Paria Ham"...HAHAHAHAHAHA!! Joker weh that fellow)

The pasta..

*I think it just fell short of a 2-2..XD

NEVER EVER USE Sainsbury's brand tin tomato. It's a shit product!!

Napolina all the way. Or back in Malaysia, S&W all the way..=D

Luckily the two chicken dishes will always be a winner..=D

And a potato salad..DONE PROPERLY (not just with mayo)..is always a crowd pleaser..=D

There was so much pressure to put out great food..it was one of the hardest thing I had to do thus far. *the competition back in Form 5 was a waste of time..

One other hard thing I've done was mooting. *that was shit as well...

But if I had to choose one of the above to do all over again...hehe...the answer is already so obvious. ;)

Stayed up till quite late..about 1am talking, and playing Mafia.

Slept at Shaun's room..and again, reminiscing old memories.

We were discussing how hard law school was..then compare that to Form 5..LOL!!!

All the empty maths exercise books, Mod Maths 1, Mod Maths 2, Add Maths 1, Add Maths 2, Add Maths 3. How may books were even used? hehe...XD

All the empty pages used to play Conquer...lol!!

Life was good back then..=)

But it's so ironic..when you were younger..you always wanted to end school life ASAP, and go to college. No restrictions, no uniforms, air-cond rooms.

Now?

I wanna go back to Form 4/5.

It's been 4 years..but Shaun and I can still remember it like it was yesterday. Who sat where, who did what, gossips, teachers..

..but we can't really remember how college or Year 1 was, as clearly..I wonder why?

Reflection on the year that was.

Okay..now where do I start?

*lets start from the very beginning, it's a very good place to start* =P

Lets see, I arrived in the UK on the 21st of September 2009. Today, it's Day 225 since I've been away from home...I've never been away from home for so long before. For almost 19 years I've been studying in the comfort of my home. So...Year 2 has been quite an experience. =)

And below is my room in Wessex. =D

I'm gonna miss my room when I return this October. Gonna be in Mackinder. Gonna miss Wessex as well.

Wessex on the whole, has been kind to me..=D

There were some ups and downs, and being away from home for the first time, it was quite scary at first. But everything worked out nicely.

My kitchen mates are great people...maybe not so much in the noise and cleanliness departments..but heck..it was an experience I will treasure.
Christmas dinner at Wessex before they left for home. =D
Will I miss them? For sure!

I'm not one to like change. It's difficult for me. I prefer staying within my comfort zone, or what I know. So, if I were staying with them in Wessex again next year..I don't think I would complain. You know what, I actually wouldn't mind if this year wouldn't end.

It's been fantastic! If everything were to be the same next year, I'll gladly take it. =D

Back in Year 1, there were quite a lot of people intending to come over for Year 2. Elisa, Winston, Ahmed, Eileen and a handful from the Jan cohort.

So, when the time really came, it was only Khiara, Amethyst, Yunrui and myself. =S

I was actually kinda scared coming over without many people I knew. The 4 of us, are like from different groups..if you know what I mean. I wasn't close with them in Year 1. The other people I knew were Shaun and Yun Ling, because we're from Subang Utama (5 Beta and 5 Alpha), and Kristine, because she's my Year 2 buddy. =)

But, really, it was all of them that made this year a great one!

All the different characters made things interesting. Life here would've been quite a challenge without everyone else, especially all the seniors!! =D

Come this October, everything is gonna change. And that is something I'm torn in 2 about. On the one hand, it's gonna be great to see everyone from my year here in Reading next year. On the other, I'm gonna miss all my seniors! And, the benchmark for this year has been set like super duper high! Not sure if next year can top this year.

Going for lectures, was kinda weird and fun at the same time. There were just the 4 of us (most of the time 3 because Khiara doesn't come..=P).

And I think we've sort of become good friends, considering our very different backgrounds. And, next year will possibly change that. Why?

I will probably be hanging out with Ikram, Elisa, Justin Liew..my old group.

Amethyst will be hanging out with her group, Endrick, Derren, Susan, Rachel.

Yunrui with her Jan cohort friends.

Plus, we're not taking the same subjects next year.

AND, most importantly, we'll all be staying at different places. Me in Mackinder, Amethyst in either Sherfield or Student Village and Yunrui has a place on the way to town.

Next year, there won't be "Student Village" anymore. You must be going, "huh?". LOL

The Student Village (SV) I'm talking about is Block F, Flat 7. This is where everything was happening. It is my second home..=D

If you asked me whether I regretted staying in Wessex instead of either Sherfield/SV...

My answer would be this;

Financially, Wessex was good, but you have to balance between the financial (value of land) and the social (and policy value) aspect between the 2 choices. =D

*see how I just integrated the Land law pre-seen into that..XD

Socially, I missed out on a lot of stuff by staying in Wessex.

Now, if I had to make a choice all over again. Turn back the clocks. I would choose Sherfield/SV.

I've been mooting all this while that Wessex is better; nearer to lectures and tutorials, cheaper. But, really, the journey isn't long if you got friends around. So, I really wouldn't care now if I had to walk 30 minutes to Foxhill for a tutorial instead if the usual 5 minutes.

Yeah, of course I did come over for certain occasions like CNY, but I missed out on so much others. The fun and joy. Just goofing off and talking crap (especially when Zili is around).

It was like a family.

Kristine was the mother Big sister. =P

And everyone else, especially Shaun and Pris, were the bickering kids...HAHAS!! XD

I was the adopted brother..=D

Also, I missed out on all the birthday celebrations, cause I stayed too far away. Only managed to come for Esther's B'day cause we had a dinner that night.
Yeah, so definitely, coming over in Year 2 was a good move. Got to know the seniors better. And they're a bunch of awesome friends. =D

Many experiences we had...and one that I will remember is the one that we got lost on the way to Seewoo for the first time. It was Shaun, Penny, Esther Priscilla and me. We walked all the way, and we reached the A33...LOLS!!!

Fun times! =D

And every time I hear those 2 words..I immediately think fo this fellow!! =D
Henry "ryuzaki" Pearce..hehe..XD

He's too tall, loves anime, doing Japanese next year, formerly from Wessex, and a great guy..=D

Will be seeing him in HR next year..=D

He's doing Jap, HR, Environment, Medical and something else..lol.

Then there's Shaun Kang, of "Wong & Kang"...XD

I've known him since Form 1! Same class in Form 2, 4 and 5. Sat next to each other during Form 4 and 5. Always the second last row near the window..and he always wanted the window..LOLS!!

Sometimes I wish I'd have done SAM instead of A-levels. If I did, I would be graduating at the same time, then we would've been in the same class in SAM and the 3 years throughout law school. =)

He's always been everywhere I've been. In SU, Taylors and now Reading. We have almost the same interest, same views on things. The only difference is that he's not a sports guy..lol. But somehow he joined the Quartermasters in Form 5..XD

then he's coming back to London on the 25/26th?

Then he's coming over to Reading on 27th..then maybe we go to Stonehenge tengok tengok..=D

Then he stay over..and ciao to Birmingham on 28th..to find some friends..lol.

He is maxing out his holidays..XD

Then he balik M'sia on 1st June.

And he has plans to go to South America next summer already...=S

OKAY!!

Must start planning for next summer as well..XD

I wanna go to the WHOLE of Italy(Rome wasn't enough..=P), Greece, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Spain, Croatia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Finland, Norway, parts of the UK and maybe Cyprus..=D

Other countries that I wanna visit whenever possible are, South Korea, Japan, South Africa, Canada, Argentina and Brazil.

Countries I wanna revisit are New Zealand, America, Italy of course, maybe France's countryside(not Paris) and Hong Kong(just for the food..=P).

What am I gonna do from now till I go back?

13th big SV dinner.

14th Jamie's Italian for lunch.

18th London with Shaun.

21st Thorpe Park.

27th Stonehenge.

30th Leave Wessex.

They only had MoH: Airborne..couldn't find the others that I wanted...=(

My answer..YES!! But, MoH: Airborne is being sold for £4.99..but if I buy another 2 games..it'll be 3 for £10..=D

So I tunggu a while more and see..=P

EU was the easiest paper amongst the rest...well...maybe on par with Equity lar..=P

But it was good..=D

I'M RUNNING OUT OF EXAMS AS WELL!!!!! =D

And I'm a taekwondo guy (brown 2 only la..=P)..so I've always been tempted to just kick or punch a tai chi guy and see who wins...LOL!!! XD

Came back wanted to do laundry..

SOOOO many people doing laundry at this time as well...grrr!! =(

After Equity..I had a big curry dinner..=D

Why is it that we must memorise one WHOLE essay covering the WHOLE module!?!?

and then have only like 45 minutes to write it out....=S
